comix64: a basket in the corner of a room (realistik)

there was no post written here for a while, at least a while relative to how fast i was posting before (about daily-ish), basically because i just never found proper time for it. so here is a re(?)-cap of what's happened in my life the past few days.

i got a boil. missed the first day of school. really sucked. was right on my crotch, too. yucky. i don't remember when exactly it was classified as "you've got a boil now", but i think it was already in its healing stage on January 6th (the post before this one) though, so it did heal quick.

yesterday i was given a mechanical numpad to go with my mechanical keyboard, and it's much quieter, and the keys are flatter, and it has full RGB lights instead of monochrome white. it's much fancier than the keyboard itself, which is kind of a shame since i'll only use it sparingly (for some binds in Garry's Mod, and maybe for Tetris since i tried binding my keys to numpad ones and it played nicely), but KDE does have a feature that lets you control your mouse with it, so i could try to figure that out and then try operation of my computer without a mouse for a little.

the day before yesterday or maybe the one before that i also fixed up Sangre. steam support said i should just reimage it, which would delete everything, and but after a while of fucking around with its BIOS and stuff, i gave up and headed to do exactly that, but i found that the image had an option to just reinstall the OS and Steam, but keep your files and configurations for everything else, which was awesome. so now Steam works fine here, and i can play all i like on the desktop again. it got rid of my custom game art and game theme plugin configuration, though, so im still picking out box art images to apply, and music to set to play when the game is selected. it looks and sounds pretty cool once it's done, but it takes a while for my whole library.

i also saw a ~10 minute video detailing the WIPs of, and samples used in the Hakita album "Tennis, Everyone?", which is still my favorite work of music, since it also got me into reading Infinite Jest, which is still my favorite work of literature. i might be new to the game in terms of, like, the fine arts, i've never seen Blast of Silence or The Last Man on Earth, which is both because i don't really know where to find recommendations for Fine Art Films and Books And You Know That Good Stuff, and because i've never really paid attention or cared about that kind of thing, until now, where i think i'd be pretty fancy if i did that, and i'd enjoy it a lot. i've read Fahrenheit 451, House of Leaves, and Infinite Jest, which are viewed as surface-level works, but i dunno where to find not-surface-level works. i've found some books that are cool in similar ways to House of Leaves and Infinite Jest, but i don't know where to actually read them. my library doesn't carry Pale Fire, nor The Pale King, nor Bottom's Dream. for the most part i've been able to find books to read on-line, but for these sorts of things it's much harder (Infinite Jest, while i did buy a physical copy, is very hard to find on the Internet Archive, because they keep listings for uploaded versions of the book on there, but they delete the actual PDF most of the time). i think next i'll read To Kill a Mockingbird, and maybe watch The Last Man on Earth. i've gotta actually put time into experiencing art to be any kind of art experiencer. i think it'll be nice, i just have to find a time (when to start looking (procrastination), when to start reading and watching (after i find the works)) and a place (to get the actual works)
