eye, tatami upd.
Mar. 25th, 2026 05:09 pmi went to a Propah (read: "Proper") eye doctor today. among other things, i had my eyes dilated and numbed. no surgery was done. it was pretty cool. i am now medically allowed/required to wear an eyepatch for 2hr/day. unfortunately the cheap thing i bought at CVS is cone-shaped so it doesn't fit well with my glasses, so i have to be un-glassed in my uncovered eye. oh well. i was hoping to get one of those white square-shaped bands like the one Rei Ayanami wears but i was told they could fuck up my eyebrow, so i didnt get one. having numb eyes was pretty cool. however, since i am both without glasses and wearing a patch over my good eye, i have to trade function for style. i look good in an eyepatch but i am totally blind. also, it sort of detaches me from the world a little; being deprived of sensory input from one eye and having extremely bad vision in the other really does a number on my sense of connection.
ive watched a few more episodes of The Tatami Galaxy since my last update on it. not really much to note there. the loops have been much shorter, he always comes to the same idea of "being a Sex Renaissance man if I don't pick just one", which has led me to believe the loops/alternate universes are specifically because he always wonders how it would have gone, which makes it a lot closer to the novel version (which i still have not read).
i guess i felt like i had more to write, but that doesnt really seem to be the case.
