i want my blog to be more abstract, freeform. my blog thus far is a catalog of daily happenings and some theories regarding what's going on in my mind. i see the blogs in my peruser page as a model. most of the blogs that dominate my peruser page are that of blogs that write a similar topic, that is, it's mostly people describing their day. but, out of my blog subscriptions, the blogs i like the most are the ones that don't write about that. most of them are about specific topics. i don't want to name names, but my favorite posts i've read here are always ones that the author is passionate about, and so have a lot of detail to them. my blog has writings that are very general purpose and i want to change that. instead of my blog being about how my day was, i want to write about topics. topics! i want to write about things i care about. i mean, i always set myself space for that here, but i want to make a note out of it. i want to give you my backstory, my history, things i care about. right now im not sure what i could write about, though, so this post will be my usual daily-notings until then.

so, i taught a bit of Bash today, in my compsci class. it was very rudimentary. i went over the basic file-management stuff (ls, cd, cat, touch, nano, rm, mv, cp), but not much else. my "students" (it was more of a, like, volunteer thing. im one of their peers. my teacher was also one of my "students") asked questions, and honestly i usually did not have answers. i ran ls /bin/ | less so they could see some commands, but they usually picked out the niche ones like dbus management tools and whatever the hell funzip is. i feel it was a comprehensive overview of the basic areas of syntax and file control, but i definitely need to do more than one session if it's gonna mean anything.

i just popped open a hint bottle. they're flavored water, but specifically such that there's still nothing in them. the nutrition facts thingy has all zeroes. i dunno how they get away with that. i mean, what the hell's the chemical responsible for the flavoring? anyway, it tastes good. this one's lemon. i dont mean to be an arbitrary advertisement, but, you know, im trying to write about whatever i can.

i noticed i never read Infinite Jest except for while waiting for the bus to arrive. i don't really like that. i read a little while on the bus today. i dont usually do that.


i just took out the trash. it was nice outside. im probably going to go for a walk. i realize pretty much all of my posts seem pretty scatterbrained. they're never about one thing! better than having a million posts, though. but, anyway, i want to catalog what's happened.

so, about that whole eye doctor thing, basically, they found that my left eye is much worse than my right, so my brain has been pretty much ignoring my left eye and only growing my right. so i have to wear an eyepatch over my right for 2hr/day so it decides to work on my left. the patch is pretty uncomfortable and i dont really like wearing it.

lately ive been playing on a Garry's Mod server from Argentina. i can surprisingly understand them pretty well. my spanish teacher refuses to teach the vosotros pronoun, and everyone in that server uses vos a lot, so it's not a total comprehension, but the conjugation is pretty predictable. my only issue would be if i were trying to type with vos, because i myself dont know how to conjugate it. i can receive, but if i want to transmit i just use tu. but anyway, i complained about this to my spanish teacher, and one of my classmates, who is from Mexico and whom i have no clue about the appearance of in a spanish classroom, considering he's already fluent, mentioned that he had Garry's Mod. he always acts punkish, you know, he thinks himself cool, but lately he's been pretty nice to everyone and i want to make friends with him. im not sure how to do this, though. the spanish-equivalent phrase (i know not all my readers know spanish) "Want to play Garry's Mod?" went through my mind a lot today. i dont really know what a sandbox-game play session would look like with that guy. what would i do? i would be better off finding some other game where you have a goal.
 

i guess i dont really have any essay to write about, mentioning that first point i made. i think i'll probably keep writing like this, just because it's all i can think of. i want to write more often, at least. if i exhaust my supply of recent events, i'll have to think of some essay to write then.
