its been a while. i just didnt have the motivation to write. not much has happened but i just wanted to write about something sooooo

i tried inscryption. i like it! i especially like the myst-style parts. the card game is pretty hard tho.

i was recruited to the neotokyo pugs, im not very good at it but i appreciate the game's slower-pace style and i think im getting better :-)

also, i found a band (soda stereo) made by the brother of the guy who made santos inocentes, which it seems both are pretty popular but im not argentinean so i wouldnt know ;p

ive been thinking about frutiger aero more lately. its a style but to me its more of how life was back when everything digital looked like it. i miss the life more than the style, i really only like the style because of what it reminds me of.

woof! been a while! still no pi, but since then ive fallen down a rabbit hole of old Amiga MOD music trackers! (so now the topic of rpi-gettage is going to disappear for now) i found a homebrew tetris clone for GBA called Apotris, whose gameplay is spot-on though its sfx and music is absolutely horrid, so i looked for a mod for its soundtrack, which i did find, in my favorite tetra-playing-genre of ambient/dnb/jungle, which is when i found one song i really liked. so i went to go look for its file... and discovered all the music is .MOD! all the music was also on modarchive. (the one song in question was Bait 'n Switch by Burnt Fishy. shout-out to burnt fishy btw. best tracks!) im trying to figure out milkytracker, and while i dont know how to do any of the fancy effects, i can at least splice a good amen break :-) thats not to say my music is good though. i dont know any music theory !!

anyway, Apotris is making me at least a little faster at tetris what with how much im playing it now. im no pro, but most people i know arent nearly as fast.

they make pios for computers! directly behind me right now i'm updating everything on a USB. also, one of my classmates offered to give me a raspberry pi as well, so im pretty stoked for monday.

i realized i actually Do Not like the desktop (lxde) but i found out there's a way to install kde instead, and i muuuuch prefer kde, so... :-P

not much to write here yet, i will try to write on monday about the rpi if i get it,, and i dont forget because im too busy messing with it to remember to write ;-)

in class today i saw a raspberry pi. i realized ive never actually seen one. there was two. one was this big spider thing and its display was connected to a tv, and the other was just the board and a teeny tiny lcd. the spiders wallpaper was amazing, and the tiny one had chromium and dolphin and a terminal open. i want to know more about them,, the desktop looked like the older versions of KDE... i want to see what they run on really bad... i hope its debian... or ubuntu... i wonder if you can install those... i should get an rpi... or a vm of whatever os they run... theyre so cute...

the class was okay. it was pretty boring :-p i think im making new friends tho !

im getting pretty good at making little tunes in tic80,, nothing special but. i like it

thats all that happened today... pretty uneventful. i like it that way sometimes tho. maybe i just want to write about how boring it was ? is that ok ? i dont think anyone reads this blog anyway. if you are, hi... ;-o

i read somewhere you should balance what your viewers want and what you want to make... but... like... i dont care... if you like what i write you'll stay and if you dont you're already gone!

what can i do about it?

i fixed my write command but im not sure im still going to teach any classes... sugar-on-a-stick didnt show up on my mac so i never got to try it.

today i got cave story to run on my old macbook pro from 2007. it dualboots osx 10.9 and whichever kubuntu version is the latest. im writing this from a wonky bluetooth keyboard, so the typos will be edited over later. [done]

im starting a new class on monday, im a little scared but im not letting that stop me. i might also teach a linux class at my school, so im pretty excited for that. though, the WRITE commnd on my kubuntu partition doesnt work, so i want to get that fixed before i start the class, so theres an easy way to demonstrate commication in that regard.

i dont have much to write this time, mostly becuse its so late X-P

anyway, to ayone reading this, have a good day.

i think there should be easier ways to memorize toki pona words, most of the things out there are really weird like.... proprietary flashcard software??
why would i buy flashcard software...??

anyway, i havent got much to do lately so im just sitting here on a blank dreamwidth screen. i definitely like it a lot more than most of the other places im on.

and yes... im downloading sugar-on-a-stick. didnt take long to convince me!
i still have my OLPC that originally ran that stuff, it's in bits after younger-me broke its screen and slightly-older-me opened it up for no reason (i didnt have any screen replacements) and decided it'd be best if i opened it and closed it over and over until it didnt fit together right anymore. its in a bag somewhere. i never actually got to use it because it was given second-hand without a charger, so i never got a chance to really try it. i was basically given plastic. it really sukes [sic]. :-P

anyway, despite being from like 2001, im still listening to Megaton by Santos Inocentes on loop. its a damn good album! it was the first album i ever pirated and then burnt to disc!

i think this is a good place to let my thoughts spill out. im not a big fan of actual diaries and journals because my handwriting sucks so bad. i never really gave thought to this kinda stuff. i joined dreamwidth for its novelty first and to reduce the amount of DVD logos in my mental screensaver second, so to speak. it's pretty effective?? i think? i just like to write, maybe. im writing more for myself than to anyone else. but whatever works!

i watched the matrix: reloaded and the matrix: revolutions in that order... i think i mixed them up? i couldnt be bothered to check. i think my 4:3 crt tv being so small made me pay attention to the movie less. talk about about out of sight out of mind!

in a way i feel this writing helps see inside my mind. im writing small paragraphs and spacing them out because this is how my thoughts go. i dont know what anyone else's thoughts look like so i wouldnt know if this is the norm or not. worth a shot; do you think like this? i assume not≥

i just found out you can delete word for word with option-backspace on this old mac! i like that. i dont really like how holding backspace makes it go breakneck speed after a while.

so far this site looks pretty good. again, im just going to write whatever comes to me, so this journal is pretty much going to be like a slightly less depressing version of strong sads blog.

thinking about if my old OLPC laptop never got its screen broken... there's sugar-on-a-stick for its os, but thats not the same :-(... after writing this im actually pretty convinced i might try it anyway.

ive also made a dvd version of my classmates' favorite movie with dvdstyler, so im pretty proud of that.
