k3b ii, sickness

i made two coasters today,  because K3B isn't working again. it's not a permission issue, now, i have no clue what it is. if i simulate a burn it just sits on the burning window, and if i burn it... well, i get two coasters. i tried some other burning program and it didn't work either. i just want to make a mixtape! mixdisc? i've spent almost all day yesterday trying to fix it, and i still haven't gotten any further. i have a 100-pack of CD-Rs, but i don't want to waste any, so these two dud discs really frustrate me. K3B does not give any error info, so in order to see what the issue is, i have to simulate a burn, wait for it to give me the error screen, copy what command it ran, make it simulate another burn, and then run the command before it deletes the TOC file, to read what the command says. K3B should just tell me what the fucking program is yelling about, but no! we need a "clean UI". it's even worse with this specific issue, because the simulation screen has no info on it, and it just gives zeroes for all the bars and "no info" for the info section. to simulate a burn, you need a blank disc in for it to emulate, but the disc drive shuts off like it isn't being used (which isn't normal behavior, even for a simulation), so K3B is basically refusing to tell me anything.

also, i'm definitely sick now, because i've been coughing those chunky coughs, and i get wisps of bloody-tasting air whenever i cough.
